SPEAKER:
Tatiana Jovetic, DnaPhone
INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP:
Positioning schools as sentinels of the territory is part of the teaching methodology called Service Learning which is experiencing an important moment of diffusion in Italy after having been adopted by many countries around the world for decades.
The workshop will present the WeLab&WeMap project, which aims to analyse and monitor the water quality of rivers and streams in an area, thus helping to build a map of the territory by activating the citizenship skills of each student and the local community.
The workshop will enable participants to gain first-hand experience of the tools and materials developed by the schools participating in the project, which received special mention at the Service Learning Olympiad organised by MIUR.
The project therefore operates both in the dimension of scientific/laboratory skills and in the dimension of local citizenship skills, school-territory interaction, and direct commitment to environmental sustainability.

SPEAKER:
Roberto Tramelli, Chimpa MDM Development Manager
INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP:
Chimpa is a professional-grade MDM (Mobile Device Management) solution capable of administering, managing and controlling children's mobile devices (tablets and smartphones) both at school and (optionally) at home.
Chimpa offers schools, educators and families a set of tools to ensure that the use of mobile technology is always appropriate and controlled, both in terms of the times and spaces of use and the modalities such as, for example, the Apps that can or cannot be used by students, also according to the scheduling of activities.
The interaction between the Chimpa Teach and Chimpa Learn Apps, included in the system, allows 'real time' control of classroom activities with tablets and smartphones, ensuring appropriate, controlled and congruent use of students' personal devices for educational activities. The Chimpa Teach App, used by the teacher, allows 'real-time' control of activities, e.g. by fixing a foreground app, applying or modifying the institute's whitelist of accessible sites, or completely blocking the devices of the class, groups or individual students when their attention is required. Chimpa offers a dual benefit: it blocks inappropriate or illicit uses of devices in the school environment upstream, and at the same time creates the right context for a conscious, profitable and safe use of such tools. With Chimpa Bazaar, it is also easy to make available to students and install remotely on individual devices, Apps, eBooks, website links, PDFs and more, all catalogued by subject and teacher, and distributed centrally by the school. It supports Volume Purchase of paid content on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
At the school level, the Chimpa Control Panel allows control over all devices entering and leaving the school, be they smartphones or tablets, each associated with its owner. The school can define institute, class, group or even individual 'profiles', including various levels of restriction and with a very high level of granularity, deciding precisely how, when and in what way students' mobile devices, be they smartphones or tablets (whether iOS or Android), can be used by students. It will be possible, for example, to prevent access to certain web pages, non-teaching Apps or certain functions such as the camera on an hourly basis and on certain days of the week, or if the devices are in the vicinity of the school WiFi network (forcing them to connect to it). And these are just a few examples!
